David Garforth
David started his financial services career in 1994 after six years in the Royal Navy. His career began as a tied adviser with Confederation life and sun life of Canada before moving on to the prudential.
David became an independent adviser in 2001 and during this time as an independent has performed managerial duties running a branch and developing financial advisers to ensure they provide the best advice possible. As well as advising he has presented financial seminars on various financial planning topics around the country. David enjoys the challenges of his profession and provides professional advice delivered to the client in a clear concise manner tailored to the clients needs and meeting there objectives.
David has two children Kade and Ella, most of his spare time is spent around them with regular gym visits, he also enjoys music both listening and performing
Mark Downing Dip PFS
Mark Joined the Financial Services Industry in November 1997 working for the Prudential and National Westminster Bank as a tied adviser, before moving on to become an Independent Financial Adviser in July 2002.
Since being Independent, Mark has performed managerial duties within a company and has presented a number of Financial Planning seminars for the general public at many locations in the UK.
Mark has achieved the full Financial Planning Certificate (FPC), Certificate in Mortgage Planning (CF6), Certificate in Long Term Care (CF8), Lifetime Mortgage Activities and Home Reversions Plans (CF7 & HR1) and Diploma qualifications in Personal Taxation (JO1), Pension Funding Options (JO4), Pension Retirement Options (JO5), Financial Planning Practice (JO8), Investment Principles (RO2) and Financial regulations and Ethics (RO1). He is now studying towards the Advanced Diploma. Mark believes this enables him to provide advice on all aspects of financial planning for his clients, whilst doing so in a straight forward, plain speaking way.
Mark strongly believes in working hard on behalf of his clients, with regular reviews and an open line for any required contact.
Mark is married to Jayne and they have two sons Joseph and Samuel. They both enjoy many sports, keeping fit and travelling.
Mark Prodywus
Mark completed his degree in Insurance & Investments in 1997 and began his career at Britannic Assurance as a tied adviser. He has worked with two other Financial Services Companies one being Legal & General and the other being Skipton Independent Financial Services. Mark worked for various companies as a Self Employed Adviser. In July 2009 six advisers including myself decided to form a company called the Money Map as we saw a gap in the market where we felt we could offer clients something different. I have worked with the six partners for over 10 years.
Since Mark started working as an Independent Financial Adviser he has been involved in a number of roles and has been responsible for the development of professional connections, developing financial advisers and servicing new and existing clients. Mark has presented Financial Planning Seminars to the general public and also to corporate clients across the UK.
His main passion is working with clients to achieve their financial objectives and goals in a manner that they can understand. Mark hopes to build strong long term relationships, embedded value and a commitment to give his the clients the service they deserve.
Mark has now gained the relevant qualifications ahead of schedule to enable him to meet the FSA set criteria for the new RDR developments in 2013.
Mark is married to Nina. He enjoys time socialising, playing all types of sport especially Rugby, he also enjoys walks with his dog. He still does Ukrainian dancing to keep in line with traditions from his grandparent’s heritage. This consumes most of his spare time.
Steve Proctor
Steven completed his Degree in Business with Marketing in 1988 and began his career in Financial Services in October that year with Royal Life. He continued as a tied adviser, mainly for Prudential whilst also performing a number of managerial roles, before becoming independent in 2000.
Steven is qualified to Diploma level in Financial Planning and he is close to obtaining Chartered status.
Steven has two children, Charles and Lily. Much of his spare time now is occupied by their rugby and horse riding activities
Darrell Barnes
Darrell is 40 and lives in Mirfield, West Yorkshire with his wife, they have a daughter aged 10 and a son aged 6.
Darrell has 10-years experience in the financial services industry. His previous roles include financial planning and general insurance advice as a tied adviser with the Co-operative Insurance Services (CIS) 2002.
Darrell became an Independent Financial Adviser in March 2005 with Berry Birch & Noble. Berry Birch & Noble was acquired by Bates Investment Services Ltd in 2006.
Honister Capital Ltd acquired Bates in June 2009 and the partnership re-branded to The Money Map in September 2009.
Darrell prides himself on a clear and concise jargon-free approach to financial planning, this results in tailor made solutions that compliment his clients’ financial objectives.
Darrell advises on estate preservation, inheritance tax mitigation and trust planning (including investment advice, income planning and professional Will writing).
Darrell also advises on retirement planning, residential and buy-to-let mortgages including personal/family and corporate protection.
